Lia Mangouras

New Release,“Waltz” by Lia Mangouras will Sway and Dip Audiences

Bewildering and alluring, Lia Mangouras draws listeners in with her upcoming single, “Waltz.” Epic and dizzying, “Waltz” is a melodic fusion of dark rock vibes and classical composition. Set for independent release on July 31st, 2020, it’s a song about breaking tension and crossing that imaginary line drawn tightly around ourselves and others. It challenges our breaking points, pushing us to cross over into the forbidden realm. The message drifts through in lyrics like, “I can feel you on my left shoulder… a glance across the room just doesn’t cut it like it used to…” Her high-energy vocals say it all in this alternative pop track.

The bewildering tune fits into Lia’s previous work with enchanted aesthetics and mysterious perspectives. Dropping a fantasy lens over reality, she typically keeps the audience removed, writing just out of reach from the first person point-of-view, yet still submerged just enough to feel the emotion and vibe. Listeners become personally attached to the experience, lured in through Lia’s poetic and vivid lyrics. “It speaks on seeing what you want or what you think you need, having it right in front of you and not being able to resist,” Lia says.

It’s a nostalgic ballad that blends together all the aspects of her original sound, a rich pallet of various influences. Her work often keeps a safe distance, holding back, and leaving the audience wanting more. This time, though, she lays it all on the table. Diving head first into the intensity the song possesses, with “Waltz,” Lia gives up everything.

Lyrical content is the main focus for Lia Mangouras. Her songs come from passion and are filled with hidden meaning. Cryptic and ethereal, it might seem like she’s singing about something specific, but she gives subtle hints at the metaphorical. You might not know what the song is about, but you know how it makes you feel. She leaves it open for audience interpretation.

Music is a deep understanding for Lia. It doesn’t have to be explained. When you’re alone, feeling out of place, hearing one song can make you feel a connection. Lia describes it as “something that you needed to hear. You feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be in that one moment, and suddenly you know where to go, even if it’s not on a physical map. It just makes sense.”

Writer’s block is tricky for Lia because it’s hard to tell if it’s something that can be broken through. Sometimes you just don’t have anything to write down. When the words won’t flow, Lia likes to go out on the roof of the building she lives in. She clears her head and enjoys the views of whole new perspective on the world. Taking it all in, she creates strictly from what inspires her.

“I’m not somebody who can sit down and say, ‘okay I’m gonna write 10 songs today’ just to write 10 songs,” Lia explains. “I have way too high of standards when it comes to inspiration for it. I have to feel something. And sometimes that’s guitar first. Sometimes it’s lyrics first. It really depends. It’s definitely inspiration based for sure.”

With all of her work, whether she’s the lead artist or her name is attached as a writer on a project for someone else, her work is honest. Large contributions or small sparks toward a bigger idea, Lia Mangouras is always real. “I will never entertain a thought, action, or idea if it isn’t at the core of what I believe I’m here for or who I am,” she vows. “With ‘Waltz,’ with past projects, or with the many future projects I have already in the works, with everything I do, you will always get me: Lia.”

Her sole intention is to share her sound. Like a friend who shows you a new song you immediately love, with Lia, her music is a universal connection, bringing others together through art. Streaming across digital platforms everywhere on July 31st, get ready for this hot summer drop, and be sure to check out “Waltz,” the hit single certain to whisk you off your feet, leaving you woozy and craving more.
